Career Pathway Program: Description
The Career Pathway Program supports international professionals looking to enter the German labor market, particularly those with little or no knowledge of German. The program primarily consists of an intensive German course designed to prepare you for final exams that open the door to career opportunities in Germany.
The program includes assistance with the visa process, housing arrangements, completing necessary formalities, and learning the language. Participants benefit from a network of partner companies and are guided throughout the application process by experienced coaches.

What course format is used for teaching?
You always remain flexible:
Hybrid: Your course consists of face-to-face & live-online lessons.
With „Hybrid“ you can also participate online in all face-to-face lessons at any time, as IIK course rooms include state-of-the-art technology so that the teacher, online participants and participants on-site can interact.
Live-Online: You take part in the course exclusively live-online.
You can take part in „Live-Online“ from home, on the road or on-site: Use our learning zones and IT services (lending of tablets and iPads, printers, copiers, scanners) in our training centers in Düsseldorf or Berlin - and meet other course participants from all over the world at IIK Café or at our leisure activities.
What course content is covered?
Our intensive training includes listening and reading comprehension with current texts, grammar training, and various communicative activities, focusing on improving your speaking and writing skills.
What are the requirements for enrollment?
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You need a blocked bank account in Germany or a declaration of commitment
What visas are recommended?
- Opportunity card (Job-Seeker Visum)
- Vocational qualification or university degree
- Chancenkarte (points-based system)
- Recognition of foreign vocational qualifications
- EU citizens do not require a visa

What qualifications do your instructors have?
Qualified and motivated instructors with university degrees and extensive teaching experience in German as a foreign and second language, or certification by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). Monthly evaluations are conducted by students.

Training & Test
Book the final test & exam preparation of your choice in advanceWe offer you the right advice when choosing the right test for you. You will also receive 50 x 45 minutes of exam preparation training for the test of your choice. We also offer one of the following tests for you: ‘TestDaF’ or ‘DSH’ or ‘telc C1 hochschule’.
Career Counselling
Assistance with job searching and the application processWe offer you two personalized career counseling appointments (2x approx.. 45 min.) tailored to your needs. During these sessions, we will support you in finding a job in Germany as quickly as possible. We’ll help you prepare your application documents and train you for job interviews.
