Intensive German for engineers and technicians: Description
Discover the profession of engineering, learn technical language, experience practice: These are the goals of the course "German Intensive for Engineers and Technicians".Students and applicants of engineering subjects learn in this course about the different fields of work of engineers. The interdisciplinary linguistic basics from the fields of physics, chemistry, mathematics and mechanics are addressed.
The focus of this training is on the linguistic specifics of taking up engineering studies in Germany.
At C1 level, our experienced instructors teach the vocabulary necessary to enter mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science and materials science courses. They help the course participants to develop solutions based on typical tasks in German and to describe them. A wide range of engineering topics (procedures and processes, organic and inorganic substances, formulas) is covered. At the same time, strategies for a better understanding of lectures and seminars are trained; many students find this very difficult, especially at the beginning of their studies.
Excursions show how mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and mathematical calculations flow perfectly into each other.

Course Level
For this course, language skills of levels B2 - C1 are required. The verification takes place through an online placement test.

Additional options
In the practical part, we offer all course participants the opportunity to experience technical processes in real life, for example in automotive engineering, communications or consumer goods production, through excursions to German companies. These excursions are an integral part of the course and help to experience the course content in application. In this way, the professional field of engineering becomes truly tangible.

Scholarship holders, students, graduates and professionals of engineering subjects with an interest in economics and sufficient knowledge of German.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, daily from 9:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. (to be determined by IIK).
